Zampano: “This year we have improved a lot”

This morning, defender Francesco Zampano spoke at the press conferenze in VFC headquarter Ca’ Venezia:

“I'm happy for the goal of 250 appearances in Serie B, I hope to make many more. Against Sampdoria it was a good victory, even though we made life difficult for ourselves. In the last month we have made some mistakes on an individual level, but we are working with the Coach and his staff to avoid making more mistakes. We definitely need to be more on the ball, to do well in this league we need to concede few goals. The fact remains that we played a good game against a great team like Sampdoria and managed to get a very good win. Compared to last year we have grown a lot, especially I think of the youngsters but also all my other teammates.

Cosenza has many strong players, it is never easy to play against them. We know that in Serie B all matches are difficult, as soon as you drop your concentration for a moment the risks increase. Since Coach Vanoli arrived we have done very well and perhaps a small drop could have been there, also because of the defections we had in the defensive department, but now we are thinking about making a round of return at the top of our possibilities as we have already shown on Sunday. This year we started from a solid base, we are a young group and perhaps we are not used to being in the upper echelons of the standings. No one expected a championship like this from us, right now we are at the top and we want to stay there by filing down every detail to avoid making more mistakes. It all depends on us, we are a strong team and if we are well we can put everyone in trouble, we just have to stay alert and focused. The coach in training always conveys his winning mentality to us, he is very demanding with us but this is the right attitude because this is how we learn from mistakes and achieve goals.“
