With day 5 of 2023/24 Serie B season in the books, a look at the statistics and curiosities of Venezia-Spezia:

Since the start of last season, no player has scored more home goals in Serie B - playoffs included - than Joel Pohjanpalo (14, as has Gianluca Lapadula).

Venezia has kept its goal unbeaten in two consecutive Serie B matches for the first time since its return to the cadet tournament (2022/23); overall, the last time in the competition before today was in January 2021 (vs. Cittadella and Vicenza in that case).

Spezia has suffered three straight league defeats under the same coach, running out of goals for the first time since September 2012, when Michele Serena sat on the bench.

Spezia failed to find a goal against Venezia despite as many as 23 shots attempted -the Ligurians ended a match without scoring after having made more shots in Serie B only against the same Venezia in July 2020 (then 27 shots attempted)
