VENEZIA-PARMA: POST MATCH

November 9, 2024

At the end of Venezia-Parma, Day 12 of the Serie A Enilive 2024/25 championship, which finished with the result of 1-2, Venezia coach Eusebio Di Francesco, and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia analyze the match as follows.

Eusebio Di Francesco
"We didn't capitalize on our dominance of the game; we needed to make better use of the chances we created. In the final ten meters, we need to be more incisive, both in our crosses and our shots on goal.
We conceded the second goal because of an error from a close position, and even though we had time to try to come back, we weren't of high enough quality.
We rushed too much with the crosses and in trying to get the ball into the box; it’s a shame about the defeat, especially considering we only allowed those two shots on target that turned into goals.
We need to be more determined and aggressive in front of the goal, because when you dominate like that, you have to finish your chances, and Serie A doesn’t forgive you in this regard. Now it's time to earn points; they’re essential at this stage."

Han Nicolussi Caviglia
"We needed to pay more attention to their counterattacks; we were aware of Parma's strength in this area, and we also should have taken better advantage of possession in their half of the pitch.
We often play good games, but we're missing a bit of grit and attention to detail.
The fans always give us their support, they’re crucial, and we thank them and want them with us, standing by our side in the next matches as well.
I’m happy for my second goal in the arancioneroverde jersey, although unfortunately, it didn’t help us bring home any points."
