Venezia FC announced today it will be marking the opening of the club’s new corporate headquarters and multi-functional sporting facility, named Ca’ Venezia, on June 23, 2023 with an inauguration ceremony event and Legends game. The project is the result of a state-of-the-art redevelopment of the Taliercio Sports Center located in Mestre, Venezia, which was transformed into a multi-functional sporting complex.
The inauguration of the innovative center will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by an appreciation event for club's investors and a football match between the Venezia FC Legends open to all Venezia FC fans. Major institutional and sports authorities, both local and national will be in attendance. The honorary opening event of Ca' Venezia is dedicated to the club's investors and to the subscribers to the Venezia FC Bond issued at the end of the past sporting season, whose contribution was vital in the realization of the project.
Duncan Niederauer, Chairman and President of Venezia FC, commented, “The realization of this innovative project is a major milestone for Venezia FC. Together with our recently renovated and historic stadium, Stadio Penzo, the new Ca’Venezia facility is a one-of-a-kind sporting center like no other in Italy and throughout all of Europe combining our corporate and training headquarters. Designed and developed according to our mission of delivering sports best practices and sustainability for the players, fans and for the club, the center was designed to optimize performance, training, and the overall experience for anyone that visits the complex. On behalf of the entire club, I would like to thank the distinguished architects and contractors, the bondholders that made this project a reality, along with the City of Venice, my fellow board members, our team and of course the loyal Venezia fans,” he added.
Curated by architect Andrea Borin and studio AI Progetti and entrusted to the company CEV as General Contractor, the project fully represents the objectives that the club intends to accomplish in support of the Venetian territory. Ca’ Venezia was designed according to design and infrastructure best practices with a focus on environmental and sustainable accessibility to further increase its focus on preserving the city and furthering its the connection to the local community.
Aram Giacomelli, General Contractor of Impresa CEV, commented, “The design and construction of the new headquarters of Venezia FC were entrusted to Impresa CEV, a historic Treviso-based construction company, which completed the work in just over a year without ever interrupting the normal training activities of the Sports Center. The attention to detail is evident in every element of the structure, from the fascinating spiral staircase in exposed concrete, pre-assembled in the factory, to the new terraces with panoramic views over the sports fields. Rep-type steel beams, floors with large spans of the honeycomb type and the use of innovative prefabricated elements are just some of the elements that characterized the intervention from a technical standpoint view. Furthermore, the implementation of the latest generation systems ensures maximum comfort for athletes and visitors to the Center,” he added.
The Ca' Venezia sports facility included the construction of six pitches that will jointly host the training sessions of the First Team, the Women's Sector and the Youth Sector. The main pitch, overlooked by a renovated semi-covered grandstand, has been equipped with a new lighting system and food court, enhancing the experience of fans who will attend official matches of the Venezia FC Primavera and Women's First Team.
The Men's First Team's technical area and the administrative offices are housed in the main building, located adjacent to the semi-covered grandstand and equipped with a hospitality lounge, a terrace and a conference room.
Furthermore, the new sporting facility includes an expansion of the areas dedicated to the Venezia FC Youth Sector and the Women's Sector in line with the long-term goals of the club, focused on promoting the development of the teams’ components. Ca’ Venezia will provide an integrated approach including additional space and logistical resources necessary to achieve our sporting goals of excellence across all teams. The new grounds are dedicated to the First Team, providing them with the proximity needed to the new premises designated corporate, administrative and operational departments of the club along with recreational areas, fostering a greater integration of the technical team with the day-to-day management of the company.
