VENEZIA FC PLAYERS CALLED UP TO NATIONAL TEAM

Nine Venezia players have been called up by their national teams during the March break of the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive Championship.

Midfielder Issa Doumbia has been selected by Italy U21 coach Carmine Nunziata to play in friendly matches against the Netherlands and Denmark. Italy will face the Dutch team on Friday, March 21, at 6:15 PM at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo in Venice, while the match against Denmark will take place at Tombolato Stadium in Cittadella on March 24.

The Icelandic national team has called up midfielders Mikael Egill Ellertsson and Bjarki Bjarkason for their Nations League play-off matches against Kosovo. The first leg will be played on March 20 at 8:45 PM at Fadil Vokrri Stadium, while the return match is scheduled for March 23 at 6:00 PM at Enrique Roca de Murcia Stadium.

Goalkeeper Jesse Joronen will wear the Finnish national team jersey for the World Cup qualifiers, facing Malta on March 21 at National Stadium Ta’ Qali and Lithuania on March 24 in Kaunas.

Ridgeciano Haps has been selected by the Surinamese national team for Gold Cup qualification matches against Martinique, which will take place on March 21 and March 25 in Paramaribo and Martinique, respectively.

Defender Jay Idzes will represent Indonesia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The Venezia captain will face Australia on March 20 in Sydney and Bahrain on March 25 in Jakarta.

Daniel Fila will join the Czech Republic U21 national team for friendly matches against Spain and Norway, scheduled for March 21 and March 24 in Lorca and Pinatar.

Forward John Yeboah has been called up by Ecuador to play in the World Cup qualifiers. Ecuador will take on Venezuela on March 21 in Quito, followed by a match against Chile on March 26 at Estadio Nacional in Santiago.

Lastly, Saad El Haddad has been called up by the Morocco U20 national team for a training camp from March 17 to March 25 at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat.
