At the end of the Venezia FC-Monza match, valid for Matchday 32 of the 2024/25 Enilive Serie A Championship and concluded with a 1-0 result, the arancioneroverde coach Eusebio Di Francesco and midfielders Alessio Zerbin and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia shared their analysis of the game.
Eusebio Di Francesco:
“It was a battle from the first to the last minute. In the first half, we wanted to show more quality in our play, especially considering how we had prepared for this match during the week. During the game we made some tactical changes, particularly in the positioning of the midfielders, and that became more effective in the second half compared to the first.
In the first 45 minutes we lacked technical precision, whereas in the second half we clearly improved in every aspect.
We persistently sought the goal, and in the end it came along with a really important victory. I’m especially happy for Fila’s goal, especially after the boos he received in our last home match: today he was able to redeem himself, turning criticism into applause. That’s part of football.
We're really sorry we won’t be able to count on him in another important match like the one against Empoli. After this victory, we can’t settle: now we have to focus on our final objective. I dedicate this result to our amazing fans and to Chicco’s family, a dear friend of mine from Pescara who is no longer with us — I’m sure he gave us a hand from up above.”
Alessio Zerbin:
“The taste of victory had been missing for a long time. The crowd today was extraordinary, as always they supported us and fully deserve this result. We also deserve to keep having real chances to reach our goal and we want to fight until the very end together with our amazing fans. The road is still long, but today we took another important step.
We strongly believe in what we’re doing, and feeling the trust of our fans and the environment around us is essential.
I’m really happy for Daniel — arriving in January from a foreign league is never easy, but he’s a hard worker and he earned this goal through commitment and sacrifice.”
Hans Nicolussi Caviglia:
“This was a crucial match for us. Today we had to win at all costs and we managed to do that, also thanks to the extraordinary support of our fans, who never stopped cheering us on from the first to the last minute. This crowd gives us incredible energy and so much confidence. The stadium today was a spectacle, full of enthusiasm and our colors.
I also want to say that I’m truly happy for Daniel Fila — he’s an exceptional guy, a hard worker, and today he showed his true value.”
