At the end of Venezia FC-Hellas Verona Day 22 of the Serie A Enilive 2024/25 championship, which finished with the result of 1-1, Venezia coach Eusebio Di Francesco and Alessio Zerbin analyzed the match as follows.
Eusebio Di Francesco:
"It's a pity because after taking the lead, we made mistakes in our game management and allowed ourselves to be pushed back a bit too much.
In the second half, despite Verona's pressure, we defended with order, although we conceded their goal from one of our counterattacks where we should have doubled up on the man. These are mistakes we've been working on for some time, and they come at a high price in this league.
The team gave everything it could, but I had asked the boys for more ability to push the line forward and hold possession for longer. Today, we didn't fully succeed in that.
We need to improve by raising both our physicality and technical quality so that we can overturn unfavorable situations.
Despite everything, the team has always shown balance, solidity, and the ability to stay in the game. Today, however, we weren't good enough in managing our lead, and we will work on this aspect."
Alessio Zerbin:
"I’m extremely happy to have scored my first goal in Serie A; it was an incredible feeling that I will remember forever. I hope it’s just the beginning of many more to come.
I came here with great enthusiasm, and from the very first moment, I felt the trust of the coach and the club. I’m eager to make my contribution.
We know the road won’t be easy, but I’ve found a united and fantastic group: there’s an incredible desire to fight and give our all every day. I’m convinced that our goal is within reach, but we mustn’t give up even an inch until the final minute.
We tried out several things during the week, and many of them were evident on the pitch. Now we’ll analyze the mistakes and work hard to understand what we lacked to secure the victory. We mustn’t stop believing."
