Venezia FC Earns Promotion to Serie A During the Playoff Final at Stadio Penzo

Venice, Italy – June 3, 2024 - Venezia FC (VFC), the professional football club of Venice founded in 1907, today officially announced the promotion of its men’s First Team to Lega Serie A, Italy’s top soccer league, following yesterday’s playoff final win against Cremonese. The victory match concluded with a 1-0 result, at Venezia’s historic Stadio Penzo with a goal from striker Cristian Gytkjaer during the second leg of the two final playoff games. Venezia FC was last in Serie A in the 2021-2022 season. This marks the club’s 14th appearance in Serie A within its club’s long history.

The First Team is coached by Paolo Vanoli together with Sporting Director, Filippo Antonelli, and the sporting technical team. Venezia FC’s is the only football club of the lagoon city of Venice and mainland Venice with a unique mission of combining sporting excellence, fashion, art and community development to protect and preserve the iconic city.
