VENEZIA FC-BOLOGNA: POST MATCH

March 29, 2025

At the end of the Venezia FC-Bologna match, valid for Matchday 30 of the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive Championship, which ended with a 0-1 result, arancioneroverde coach Eusebio Di Francesco and defender Jay Idzes analyzed the match as follows.

Eusebio Di Francesco:
"In the first half, the most important chances were created by Venezia, while Bologna managed to capitalize on their first real opportunity with a great goal by Orsolini.
In the second half, we had two chances with Busio and Yeboah, but scoring is something we are really struggling with, and that makes me very angry because we are tired of talking about great performances without getting full results. In the end, we pay the price because they were better at taking advantage of and converting their chances.
In the last match against Lazio, Bologna dominated, whereas today at the 'Penzo,' they struggled thanks to our approach. However, we continue to lack finishing quality. Now, we need to move on from this game: I am disappointed with the result because we stayed in the match even after conceding the goal.
For us, teamwork matters, not who scores, but looking at the past games, the only thing we have been missing is the goal."

Jay Idzes:
"Today against Bologna, we played well, just as we did against Lazio, Napoli, and Atalanta, but once again, we lacked the goal, and that is frustrating. We created three or four clear chances but could not finish them, unlike them, who scored a great goal through Orsolini. Without that, I think the match would have had a different outcome because we gave their attackers very little. Now, we need to focus on the upcoming matches, which will be really important."
