Vanoli: “We trained with the right spirit”

On the eve of the Day 17 of Serie B 2023/24, when Venezia will face Südtirol at Penzo stadium tomorrow at 14:00 CEST, the arancioneroverdi coach Paolo Vanoli analyzed the team's situation and the opponent.

"This week we trained with the right charge to be ready ahead of tomorrow's match. Südtirol has shown they can fight and they have recently changed coach so it will be a very delicate match. We know that playing at the Penzo in front of our fans is a great strength for us. I believe in my players, we still have to mature in handling episodes. The defeat in Cremona is a greater stimulus to face the next competitions in the best way. Maybe last Saturday we wanted to win at all costs without having the right patience and in doing so, there is a risk of losing balance and concentration. It's all part of our growth path, Cremonese was better at handling that situation than we were.

The defeats we have suffered so far have come because of details that we have to improve, a team like ours has to learn to stay on top. Defeats always serve as a reminder that no one is unbeatable, but never get down on ourselves. Compared to last season, there are more teams in the top positions that are playing it out and that's why it's even better. We don't look at the standings but at Südtirol, I'm happy because we got to recover some of the players who worked in the group during the week. The great thing about my group is that everyone is fighting for a goal and the team needs all the elements at its disposal.“
