TORINO-VENEZIA FC: POST MATCH

May 2, 2025

At the end of the Torino-Venezia FC match, valid for Matchday 35 of the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive Championship and ending with a 1-1 result, Venezia’s coach Eusebio Di Francesco and goalkeeper Ionut Radu analyzed the match.

Eusebio Di Francesco:
"In the first half, we would have deserved even a two-goal lead, based on what we showed on the field. In the second half, however, the team wasn’t able to come back with the same attitude, also due to Torino raising their intensity. We were less effective in possession and, due to the opponents’ aggressiveness, we made a few too many mistakes out of haste.
I completely disagree with the referee’s and VAR’s decisions: I still struggle to understand when an action is actually considered a penalty. It’s frustrating because these episodes often decide the outcome of matches, and lately they always seem to go against us.
In terms of performance, Venezia has rarely disappointed. Maybe today we lacked a bit of consistency: when you dominate a match, you have to be able to make the most of your chances, and that’s exactly the area where we need to grow."

Ionut Radu:
"Decisions are analyzed afterwards, but I’d start by saying we played a great match. As far as I’m concerned, the incidents in this game are now behind us. We must already focus our attention on the next match against Fiorentina.
Today’s performance should give us a confidence boost: we’ve always shown we can compete in this league, and if something has been missing so far, it’s been a bit of luck. The team has desire, determination, and we will keep fighting until the end to reach our goal. Now it’s all about focus, heart, and belief ahead of the match against Fiorentina."
