The midweek round of the 2025/26 Serie BKT season is just around the corner. For Matchday 24, Venezia FC will host Modena on Tuesday, February 10 at 8:00 PM at the Stadio Penzo. Coach Stroppa previews the key themes of the match, analyzing his team’s current form.
Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach
“Beyond the gap to the second-placed team, all the others are very close behind. The mindset we need is to want to win every remaining match. We have only one objective, and game by game we must earn as many points as possible.
On Saturday, Frosinone caused us problems in the first half. We created few chances and made mistakes with our first touches, giving space to Frosinone’s high pressing. Toward the end of the first half, Doumbia’s two chances could already have changed the course of the game. It was a match in which our perseverance and patience justified an important result.
Regarding tomorrow’s match against Modena, today we’ll certainly try something in training to find the best approach in every position. We have 25 outfield players in the squad; last Saturday I had to make some choices about who to include in the matchday list, and being left in the stands is certainly not a rejection. We’re facing a run of three matches in eight days, so we’re keeping an eye on physical and mental energy expenditure. Training session by training session, we’ll find the most suitable solutions for the team. In yesterday’s training, those who didn’t play against Frosinone pushed very hard — that’s one of this team’s secrets.
Tomorrow against Modena will be a difficult match. As I said in the first meeting, the Emiliani are equipped to compete at the top of the table. Recently they’ve lost a bit of ground, but looking at their lineup they’re competitive in every department. It will be a tough challenge. They are a physical team with a strong identity, and it will be an intense match.
Across all areas of the club, there is a great mentality every day. Everyone is focused on a single common goal. The chasing teams are right behind us, and we can never ease off. That’s exactly why finding the right motivation is easy. We can never stop, because all our opponents are hungry and just waiting for us to slip up.”
