The press conference of Giovanni Stroppa

December 2, 2025

On the eve of the Round of 16 Coppa Italia match against FC Internazionale, coach Stroppa discusses the condition of his players and presents the game to the media. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3 at 9:00 PM at the “Meazza” Stadium in Milan.

Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach
For the match against Inter, I will give playing time to those who have played less so far. I have a competitive squad, and tomorrow will be a useful test for evaluating the players who haven’t had many opportunities up to now. It will be a match featuring great quality on the pitch; we are facing an extraordinary team that has everything needed to perform well. It will be a good test for us. It’s a match we must approach with courage and balance— we’ll try to play our game knowing we’re up against a top team.

All the players are improving, and putting them on the pitch at San Siro shouldn’t be seen as a reward; rather, it’s giving them the chance to get minutes in their legs. Important league fixtures await us, and by doing this I can make the most of the entire squad in the upcoming matches.

We are a young team, the third youngest in the league, and this gives us the possibility to make mistakes and therefore grow as players. San Siro takes your breath away, and we’ll be able to approach the match with the right carefree attitude, knowing we have nothing to lose while trying to rise to the occasion. The team is in excellent shape, feeling good, and this is an opportunity for everyone to grow.”
