The press conference of Giovanni Stroppa

February 6, 2026

Tomorrow at 3:00 pm, Venezia FC will be in action away at Frosinone for Matchday 23 of the Serie BKT season. Coach Stroppa previews the match, taking stock of his team’s current form.

Giovanni Stroppa, Head Coach of Venezia FC:
Last year was a long and difficult journey for me, so receiving the Golden Bench award was very special. At the moment, Venezia’s position in the table doesn’t mean anything; there is great satisfaction with everything we’ve done so far, but we still have to sweat a lot if we want to keep going at this pace.

Tomorrow will be a fantastic match that we can’t wait to play. I congratulate Alvini and the entire Frosinone side for the consistency they’ve shown on the pitch. For us, however, the only thing that matters is trying to achieve our final objective; whatever happens tomorrow, one way or another, won’t change the path we’ve chosen.

It wasn’t easy to improve the squad we already had. We knew the players who arrived during the transfer window, and there was the opportunity to bring them in. Now I have to think about enhancing them and integrating them into the squad—a dressing room that, at the moment, isn’t easy to break into because of the pace, intensity, and shared understanding. The staff and I will do everything possible to help them integrate as quickly as we can.

I’d like to highlight that Venezia are the third-youngest team in the league, and we continued to follow this approach in the transfer market as well. I work to improve the players at my disposal; by doing so, the team improves and results follow. In terms of playing style and understanding, we chose to bring in players who fit the squad.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Frosinone are in some ways similar to Carrarese: Alvini has done an extraordinary job with the youngest squad in the league. Everything they’ve achieved has been earned on the pitch. They are a carefree team with great quality. They strengthened in the January transfer window and attack all over the pitch—they’re lively, play vertically, and have players who are above this level. We have to keep working, respecting everyone, paying attention in both phases of play, and trying to work at our best both with and without the ball.

Tonight, another championship begins, because many teams have changed and strengthened for these final months. Consistency and continuity in performances are essential; everything that happens from now until the end of the season could be turned upside down. Nothing is guaranteed in Serie B. We focus on ourselves, trying to improve what we can.”
