The press conference of Emil Bohinen

October 8, 2025

After seven Serie BKT matches and qualification for the Round of 16 in the Coppa Italia, Venezia FC heads into the second international break of the season by continuing work on the training ground and preparing for the friendly match on Saturday, October 11, against ND Primorje. Midfielder Emil Bohinen, who has made five appearances in Arancioneroverde so far, gives an update on the team’s form.

Emil Bohinen, Venezia FC midfielder:
In training, I’m working hard to reach my best physical condition. Every day on the pitch I push myself to the limit to get to the level I need to be at to help the team.

I chose to wear the Venezia shirt because I believe it’s one of the most prestigious clubs in the division. Stroppa was definitely one of the reasons I came here — his style of play suits my characteristics well: aggressive and dominant, just the way I like it. Serie B is always a tough league — the table is tight, and every single team can cause you problems. This year we want to fight to reach the top; it won’t be easy, but I have great confidence in the team.

Italian football is very physical, and to face it properly you need to be in top athletic shape. If you’re not constantly at your best, one mistake can cost you a goal; you need to fight in every match and combine that with strong technical quality. I’m settling in well with the team and Stroppa’s system, and I want to try to be a leader both on and off the pitch.

My father’s football experience has helped me a lot in my career — he’s one of the people I’ve drawn the most inspiration from. Especially early on in my career, he helped me grow both as a player and as a person.
