The post-match of Venezia FC - Modena

February 10, 2026

At the end of the match between Venezia FC and Modena, valid for matchday 24 of Serie BKT and ending 0–2 in favor of the Emilian side, head coach Giovanni Stroppa and captain Michael Svoboda shared their thoughts on the game.

Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach
Tonight we started off below par; we lost our balance and didn’t make the most of the chances we created. Modena deserved the lead. In the second half the team reacted well, we had opportunities to get back into the game but we weren’t good enough at finding the back of the net. We have to see today’s result as a bump in the road. We made many mistakes, we weren’t able to show the right quality in our play or the right determination in our duels. We’ll learn from our errors, put this match behind us, and already focus on the next fixture.”

Michael Svoboda, Venezia FC captain
Today we lost the game in the first half. We didn’t start with the right attitude; we were too soft. In the second half we tried to get back into the match, but it’s never easy when you’re two goals down. We were coming off a good run; on Saturday we’re back on the pitch for another important game, and we need to focus on preparing for it in the best possible way.
