THE POST-MATCH OF VENEZIA FC–MANTOVA

August 16, 2025

At the end of the Venezia FC–Mantova match finished with a 4–0 result, arancioneroverde head coach Giovanni Stroppa and forward John Yeboah analyzed the match as follows.

Giovanni Stroppa: “I want to congratulate the boys because they played a high-level match, especially considering the complicated week we’ve had and all the difficulties that accompanied our preparation. It wasn’t easy to concede so little to Mantova and, at the same time, score so many goals. It’s still August football, so I’m taking home the positives, as well as the aspects we need to keep working on.
We mustn’t fool ourselves into thinking matches in Serie B will always be like this. We have a really tough game coming up on Sunday, and we’ll need grit and maximum focus. It’s a difficult moment, and even the lead-up to the match wasn’t easy, but I want to reiterate my compliments to the boys for the balance they showed on the pitch. Now it becomes essential to improve physically, athletically, and in terms of internalizing our tactical concepts, but if we approach the league with the right mindset, then we can be protagonists.”

John Yeboah: “I want to congratulate the team because this win is the result of our team spirit. I’m really happy about the goals and the performance, but now we have to maintain this level. The league starts next week and I can’t wait for the season to begin. We want to give our all in every match—today was just the first step, and our goal is to keep moving forward on this path.
As for me, today was a good start to the season. It’s a very important year for me, and I’m happy with how it began, but now I have to keep going with the same determination next week and continue like this.”
