At the end of the match between Venezia FC and Catanzaro, valid for Matchday 20 of the Serie BKT season and ending 3–1 in favor of the orange-and-green side, head coach Giovanni Stroppa and forward Antonio Casas analyzed the game.
Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach
“Today, after conceding a goal, the team didn’t lose energy but reacted with organization and compactness. We were playing against a strong team; it was a direct clash, and I’m satisfied with the performance my players put in. Today we played as a team, keeping a high tempo for almost the entire match without any drop-offs. In the first half our opponents tried to contain us, but in the second half we grew even more. We have a strong mentality and the right players to put our ideas into practice. That said, this is only the first matchday of the second half of the season—the championship is still long and there is still a lot to fight for. From now on it will be even more difficult; we must stay focused and continue along the path we’re on.”
Antonio Casas, Venezia FC forward
“I believe every player has to make the most of the minutes the coach gives him, and today I’m happy to have been useful to the team with a goal in the final minutes. Today’s match was difficult; in the first half we had our chances but weren’t good at converting them, while in the second half we managed to get the key moments on our side with the opponent’s red card and the converted penalty. We are a very united group, every player gives their all, and we work every day to keep improving.”
