The post-match of Sudtirol - Venezia FC

February 28, 2026

At the end of the match between Südtirol and Venezia FC, valid for Matchday 27 of Serie B, which ended 1–1, head coach Giovanni Stroppa and goalkeeper Filip Stanković shared their thoughts on the match.

Giovanni Stroppa, Venezia FC head coach:
For the chances we created today, we could have lost, but we also could have won. In the first half, with Doumbia and Lauberbach, and in the second with Yeboah and Casas, we certainly could have done better. Here at the Druso it’s always a battle—any ball played toward the opposing forwards can put you under pressure. They play man-to-man all over the pitch. We take home a valuable point that keeps the table moving. We did very well today to react properly and get back into the game. At this stage of the season, it’s important not to lose momentum, and today the team showed it’s fully focused.”

Filip Stanković, Venezia FC goalkeeper:
We knew we would face a very tough opponent today, especially when they play at home. It’s difficult to face Südtirol, so we’ll gladly take this point earned at the Druso. Now it’s time to immediately think about the next match. Starting tomorrow, we’ll be back on the training ground with the coach and staff to prepare for the game against Avellino, which will be played in three days. Today we could hear our fans the entire time—it felt like playing at home. They supported us constantly, even when we were trailing. Having that much support away from home is exceptional. The last-minute save? Pure instinct.
