On the eve of matchday 32 of the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive season, which will see Venezia face Monza at the “Pier Luigi Penzo” Stadium tomorrow at 3:00 PM, the arancioneroverde coach Eusebio Di Francesco analyzed the team’s current form and their opponent.
Eusebio Di Francesco:
“Starting tomorrow, a real mini-tournament of seven matches begins for us, and the first one, which is very important, will be against Monza. Based on this, Venezia needs to be ‘on fire’ for the entire duration of the match. We must stay focused and clear-headed, both in positive moments and in tough ones, and be ready to react with determination.
Monza is a team led by a very well-prepared and competent coach, with clear ideas. They have a squad full of players with significant quality. We shouldn’t expect a passive opponent—on the contrary, we’ll face a team that has shown it can challenge anyone. That’s why we must approach the game with the right mindset, making a strong impact from the start and also making the most of our home advantage.
Our difficulty in scoring is tied to the phase before the finish. We need to improve our decision-making on the final pass and the buildup of the play so that we can better support those who will take the shot.
We’re aware that we’re missing a win, but we must not become obsessed with it, otherwise we risk making a big mistake. Winning is fundamental, of course, but we must continue to maintain unity, a fighting spirit, and the desire to challenge our opponents.
We must win matches as a team, not through individual efforts. Venezia performs at its best when it works together as a group.
Right now, everyone can give something more—myself included. It’s essential that each one of us, even those starting on the bench or not playing, feels the importance of contributing. My biggest request is that tomorrow Venezia stays ‘on fire’ from the first to the last minute.”
