Venezia FC announces the acquisition of 30-year-old goalkeeper Matteo Grandi. Arrived as a free agent, Grandi has signed personal terms with the club through the 2023/24 season with an automatic renewal clause after the achievement of certain sporting conditions.



After coming through the ranks of Cesena’s youth teams, Grandi made his professional debut in 2011, at the age of 19, with US Borgo a Buggiano 1920 in Lega Pro’s second division. In the following years, Grandi continued his career in Serie C with various teams, including Südtirol, Bassano Virtus, Pergolettese, Catanzaro, and Vicenza, with whom he gained promotion to Serie B in 2020.
In the two years that followed, the goalkeeper defended Vicenza’s net, appearing in 54 matches in Serie B after having already debuted in the second division of Italian football in 2016/17 with Latina. This past season, he wore the jersey of Sangiuliano City in Serie C. He has totaled 294 caps in his whole professional career.
