At the end of Hellas Verona-Venezia, Day 7 of the Serie A Enilive 2024/25 championship, which finished with the result of 2-1, Venezia coach Eusebio Di Francesco and Michael Svoboda analyzed the match as follows.
Eusebio Di Francesco
“We tried to address the issues with set pieces, where we've conceded too many goals. We need to avoid giving our opponents advantages, like in the case of the own goal or mistakes in clearances. Credit to Verona, who believed in themselves more.
We should have struck while the iron was hot, but instead, we dropped back, even in our pressing, and despite creating important chances to score, we weren't able to convert them.
Today we lacked clarity both in their final 20 meters and in ours. I don't want to single out anyone; we need to look forward and make the players understand that this league doesn't allow for any distractions. We need to grow in this aspect”
Michael Svoboda
"We need to raise our focus level on set pieces because we've conceded several goals from corners. Everyone needs to take responsibility; I also made some important passing mistakes today. We need to be more aggressive and focused because, once again, Verona gained confidence following our errors. Both today and in the match against Roma, we took the lead, and they were similar games where we failed to capitalize on some chances, and the match turned against us.
It hurts a lot because these were two games where we could have taken points.
Now there's the international break, and I'm happy to have been called up, though I go with the bitterness of these last two results”
