Facundo Zabala joins Venezia FC

Venezia FC are pleased to announce the acquisition of Argentine left-back Facundo Zabala, 23, from Cypriot First Division club APOEL. Zabala has signed personal terms for three years plus an option for a fourth year.
After coming through the youth academy of Argentine Primera División club Rosario Central, Zabala moved to Costa Rica to begin his professional career with LD Alajuelense, where he would make 60 total appearances between domestic and international competitions over two years while winning the 2020 CONCACAF League and the Apertura 2020 championship of the Primera División of Costa Rica.
In January 2021, Zabala left Alajuelense for Europe, joining Cyprus’ most successful club, APOEL. Over the last year and a half, Zabala made 53 appearances with five goals and one assist in domestic competition with the Nicosia-based club.
Zabala holds dual Argentine and Spanish citizenship.
