On the eve of the next league match, in which Venezia will face Lazio at the "Pier Luigi Penzo" Stadium tomorrow at 3:00 PM, the arancioneroverde coach Eusebio Di Francesco analyzed the team's current form and the opponent in a press conference.
Eusebio Di Francesco
"In these past days, we have worked a lot on the mental aspect, focusing particularly on the ability to stay in the game until the very last second. This is something we have lacked at certain moments in this championship. We have played excellent matches, managing to hold our own against opponents and putting them in difficulty – as was the case against Genoa – but in the final moments, we have given in at the first signs of trouble. This is something we need to work on and improve.
There are fewer and fewer matches left, so maintaining high concentration and staying focused is crucial. We need to take this step forward immediately.
Lazio is in great form; I see a lively team with dynamic players who bring great intensity to the field. Marco Baroni is doing an excellent job, and the team perfectly reflects his playing philosophy, which is based on intensity, space exploitation, physicality, and technical quality.
The Biancocelesti play with determination and aggression, always looking to impose their game with intensity and physical strength. We will have to respond with the same weapons but add something extra. To counter their technical and qualitative level, we must bring intensity, commitment, and a strong fighting spirit. We cannot afford not to be combative.
It’s time to turn things around and believe in it until the end, knowing that we can do it. We must pursue the result with conviction, and we work every day for this. I am giving my all.
Now more than ever, we must aim for the result and shake up the standings. We have often complained about certain draws, but there are matches where, if we fail to capitalize on offensive efforts, we must know how to defend and bring home points. What matters is keeping our focus high until the very last minute."
