This afternoon at the Ca'Venezia press room, Sporting Director Antonelli along with Head of Technical Area Molinaro presented new coach Eusebio Di Francesco to the press.
Filippo Antonelli:
"It is a pleasure for me to officially introduce coach Di Francesco, because there is so much enthusiasm in facing this new season and this new Serie A.
In order to face the new challenges that await us, we have decided to entrust our technical guidance to coach Di Francesco, not only because of his professional past of the highest level, but also because of the human depth that I have been able to see in the many meetings that have taken place. I am certain that he will be the right leader who through his courageous ideas of soccer will make our fans proud in both positive and negative moments."
Eusebio Di Francesco:
"First of all, I want to thank President Duncan Niederauer, Sports Director Antonelli and Head of Technical Area Molinaro, with whom I met several times and appreciated their human value. In recent years I think I have made choices based primarily on the value of people and then on the value of the team. With the fans I want to establish a close, sincere and loyal relationship.
There is a beautiful structure here that can only grow, with lots of competent people in every role. Today I met the guys and the first thing I asked for is maximum availability. I will also try to transfer my ideas but especially the courage and resilience to never back down in times of difficulty.
I believe that the goal is to achieve salvation through important foundations such as loyalty, seriousness and hard work. I will ask my players to always have the utmost respect for themselves and the jersey they wear. The best feeling is that I perceived in these guys great sense of belonging to the Society and City. Tonight we will meet the fans, and I think it is a good signal from the Society, because the sense of belonging is what each of us must have when we face an adventure. One of the fundamental aspects is the love between the square and the club."
