Venezia FC announces the acquisition of attacking midfielder Alessio Zerbin on a temporary basis from SSC Napoli. The deal is structured as a loan until the end of the season with an obligation to buy upon the fulfillment of certain conditions.
Born in Novara on March 3, 1999, Zerbin began his football journey in the Inter Youth Academy before joining Napoli in January 2017, where he stood out in the Primavera team.
His professional debut came in the 2018-19 season with Viterbese, where he won the Coppa Italia di Serie C. He continued his development with stints at Cesena and Pro Vercelli, before moving on loan to Frosinone in Serie B in the summer of 2021, where he scored 9 goals in 31 appearances.
The 2022-23 season marked his debut in Serie A and the Champions League with Napoli, contributing to their third Serie A title. Zerbin also made his mark in the Supercoppa Italiana, scoring a brace in the semifinal against Fiorentina and starting in the final.
In the past season, he made 13 appearances and provided an assist with Monza.
On the international stage, Zerbin earned one cap for the Italian National Team in the Nations League match against Hungary on June 7, 2022. He also represented Italy's Under-18 team on 4 occasions, scoring 1 goal.
