Midfielder Yolanda Bonnín Roselló arrived at Venezia FC Femminile in October 2022 and has already established herself as the team's top scorer, with ten goals under her belt. In this interview, the young Spanish player, born in Palma de Mallorca, walks us through the path that brought her to Venice.

“I have been passionate about football since I was a child, and I am lucky to have had a family that has supported me every step of the way. I started playing at school and joined my first team when I was eight years old: at that time, I was the only girl on the field, along with boys only. People who came to watch were surprised and wondered if there happened to be a boy with long hair. Despite everything, I was lucky: no one ever disrespected me, and my teammates always supported me.

After a few experiences abroad, I had the chance of either returning to Spain or considering other options. The Italian culture and people have always fascinated me, and as soon as I received an offer to come here, I knew what to do. What I appreciated the most about this club is the honesty and fairness, as well as the spirit and atmosphere we created in the locker room. Our group is very united, and we are determined to go all the way to pursue our common goal. For my part, I am happy to be able to contribute to this goal by scoring as much as I can.

I can't say that I have a specific role model as a player, I try to get the best out of the players I respect the most. I like Luka Modrić’s touch, or Vinícius’ 1 vs 1, but I mostly look up to women. In Spain, I was lucky enough to play with Mariona Caldentey, Patricia Guijarro, and Alexia Putellas, now with FC Barcelona: I aspire to get to their level.”
