June 28, 2022

On 1 July at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo in Venice, Venezia FC will host Fashion at Iuav 2022, the latest edition of the annual graduation show of selected Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts fashion design students at Iuav Moda — the renowned fashion program at the Università Iuav di Venezia, one of Europe’s leading universities in the fields of architecture, design, fashion, visual arts, and urban planning — with global technology leader Xiaomi as the presenting sponsor. Vogue Italia will livestream the show at www.vogue.it. The title of this year’s show is Smisurata (Boundless).

Venezia have been engaged in a blossoming relationship with Iuav, further to the club’s ongoing commitment to community development and alignment with forward-thinking institutions in the city of Venice. In the spring semester of the 2021-22 academic year, Venezia FC collaborated with Iuav Moda on a student workshop as part of the Fashion Design Atelier 4, which was highlighted by an outstanding capsule collection titled Riflessi (Reflections) by Emma Degan, Francesca Guerresco, and Gaia Cesarin.

Fashion at Iuav 2022 also marks the latest collaboration in a continuing partnership with Xiaomi, who became a Venezia FC Top Partner in the 2021/22 season, bringing together sport, culture, and technology in innovative ways in Venice.

Established in 1926 as one of the first architecture schools in Italy, Iuav combines tradition with a strong commitment to continual innovation. As a true international university, Iuav offers degree programs and courses in English, boasts a wide network of worldwide partners in teaching and research, and brings together a number of visiting academics and professionals and vibrant student community from all over the world.

Since 2005, the Bachelor of Arts program in Fashion Design and Multimedia Arts at Iuav has been continuously engaged in research and teaching, focused on defining an Italian fashion school. The Fashion Design track, founded by Maria Luisa Frisa, aims at excellence by training designers able to face the challenges of the fashion industry at the standard of one of the top fashion schools in the world. Thanks to an international teaching staff made up of professors and designers plus experimental design workshops and ateliers, graduating students are able to conceive, design, and create a collection, to use heterogeneous tools and languages, and to reflect on fashion as a cultural system.
