In her first season with the arancioneroverde jersey, Italian midfielder Teresa Penzo, born in 2004, has become one of the mainstays of Venezia FC Femminile despite her young age, showcasing all her talent.
"I started kicking a ball for the first time when I was 5 years old when I played both with my childhood schoolmates and at home with my brother and father, who already had this passion. My relationship with sports, however, was initially born with artistic gymnastics, which I began practicing at the age of 6. I remember, however, that in the gym, during practice, I would always stop and watch the other children play soccer, and when I could I would immediately join them. From there I began to realize what my true passion was and chose to change sports for good. My first team was from the town where I grew up, Monte di Malo (VI). At the age of 10, I moved to Calcio Schio and, after three years, I moved to Vicenza Calcio where I stayed until I went on loan to Venezia FC last summer.
From day one I felt welcomed, I am getting on very well even beyond my expectations. We are a young team with lots of new girls compared to last season but despite this I have integrated very well from the first training sessions. It is not obvious to find in women's soccer an environment in which staff and club are always available to make sure you don't miss anything. When I arrived I was aware of my abilities but I did not expect to fit so well into the coach's playing schemes and to have such a good understanding with my teammates. I hope to repay the trust that the club, the team and the whole staff have always placed in me by proving my qualities on the court. I don't know yet if I will be here next year but without a doubt being part of a club like Venezia FC is a privilege and I would like to focus on this very intense final season to try to get a great result in the league.
Being part of the LND Under 20 National Representative team, and wearing the captain's armband, is a great honor but also a great responsibility that pushes me to give everything both on and off the field. In this championship I would like to reach 13 goals but my dream in the drawer for the future is to be summoned to the National Team. In everyday life, on the other hand, I am also a student and currently attending the fifth year of Liceo Scientifico-Sporticeo in Schio. Next year I would also like to enroll in college in the "Science of Soccer Administration" course".
