SERIE C FEM. 24/25: VENEZIA FC-VILLORBA 2-1

Under the rain, a great comeback victory for the orange and green against Villorba.

The first real chance of the match comes in the 15th minute: Torradeflot sends Nurzia through on goal, putting her face-to-face with the visiting goalkeeper, who just manages to reach the ball first by a hair's breadth. Two minutes later, Gangi hypnotizes Villorba's number 10, Trevisan, who had arrived one-on-one with the orange and green keeper.
The lioness Nurzia is the undisputed protagonist of the first half, nearly scoring in the 33rd minute as she narrowly misses a ball served by Zannini, and then, ten minutes later, barely missing the crossbar with a free kick from the edge of the box. A shot by Cortesi towards the near post, blocked by Stecchini, closes the first 45 minutes of play, which were well-balanced by the orange and green team.

The second half begins in the worst possible way for the Lionesses, who concede a goal to Villorba after only 3 minutes, thanks to a header from Cecchinato following a corner. In the 54th minute, the orange and green team has a chance to equalize, but Torradeflot's shot is easily saved by Stecchini. A minute later, Doneda receives the ball just outside the penalty area and with a splendid shot under the crossbar scores the well-deserved equalizer. (1-1) Now Venezia isn't satisfied and, under the relentless rain, pushes forward decisively in search of the lead. They come close first with Zuanti in the 31st minute, then with Tasso, who is barely beaten to the ball by the opposing goalkeeper. In stoppage time, with heart and determination, Berta Prat Hernandez's girls manage to score the winning goal through Duarte, after a frantic scramble in the penalty area.

Thanks to this victory, the Lionesses retain their position at the top of the standings.
