First draw of the season for the Venezia FC women, held at home by SüdTirol at the end of a match filled with excitement and opportunities.
A header by Willis and a volley from Gismann, narrowly missing the target, were the first offensive moves by the Lionesses in a first half marked by balance and intensity.
The first big chance for SüdTirol came in the 17th minute, when number 7, Markart, dangerously penetrated the box but was thwarted by a decisive intervention from goalkeeper Barbierato.
In the 25th minute, Zannini attempted a shot with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, but it flew over the crossbar. Just two minutes later, the visitors took the lead with a clever lob from striker Stockner, which beat Barbierato and found the back of the net (0-1).
The Lionesses immediately reacted, surging forward in search of an equalizer. Cortesi, from the right, delivered a ball to Airola at the edge of the area, but her shot skimmed the post. Shortly before halftime, Zannini had a double chance to level the score: her first shot was blocked, and the second was deflected for a corner.
At the start of the second half, SüdTirol nearly doubled their lead when Markart's free kick from the edge of the box struck the crossbar. However, the Lionesses were undeterred and continued pressing, relying on efforts from Willis and Zannini.
In the 66th minute, the well-deserved equalizer finally arrived: Torradeflot beat two opponents and delivered a perfect assist to Borsato, who scored a beautiful right-footed goal. The score was 1-1.
Buoyed by the goal, the Lionesses immediately pushed to take the lead, but Cortesi’s free kick from the edge of the area went just centimeters wide of the post.
In the closing minutes of the match, only bad luck prevented the arancioneroverdi from claiming all three points. In the 88th minute, a great shot from Borsato was deflected for a corner, while in the 90th minute, Poli’s strike hit the crossbar.
Despite this, the team coached by Berta Prat Hernandez maintained their unbeaten record and their lead in the standings.
