The Lionesses strengthen their lead at the top of the standings with an exceptional performance, overwhelming Ravenna with a commanding 6-0 victory.
After just three minutes, the home team nearly takes the lead: Nurzia finds herself alone in front of goalkeeper Siboni, who narrowly intercepts the orange-green number 19 with a timely save. In the 14th minute, Cortesi takes a free kick from the side that just misses the post, momentarily fooling the home crowd, who were ready to celebrate. Only four minutes later, however, the illusion becomes reality: Cortesi performs a splendid solo run down the left flank, dribbles past two opponents, and slots the ball into the far post with an impeccable shot.
From that moment on, the Lagunari relentlessly attack the visiting defense, though they are unable to double their lead right away. The most dangerous attempts before the end of the first half come from a shot by Torradeflot, deflected into a corner, and a free kick by Doneda that just misses the post.
The second half starts in the best possible way for Berta Prat Hernandez's team, who double their lead after only 60 seconds: Nurzia strikes with power, Siboni saves, but Zannini is ready and taps in the rebound to make it 2-0.
Encouraged by the second goal, the Lionesses push forward determinedly to definitively close the match. In the 51st minute, Nurzia, after dribbling past two defenders in the box, strikes first-time and scores the 3-0.
The fourth goal for the orange-green team comes just ten minutes later: Torradeflot delivers a perfect assist to Borsato, who from the edge of the box places a left-footed shot into the near post. (4-0)
At this point, it seems there is only one team on the field: the Lionesses weave a tight network of quick passes, leading Willis (who had come on just five minutes earlier in place of Zannini) to score the 5-0.
The unstoppable Lionesses aren’t satisfied and cap off the match with a sixth goal, scored in the 87th minute by Ait, making her debut with the first team unforgettable.
