The Venezia FC women's team continues their winning streak, securing their ninth consecutive victory out of nine matches by defeating Real Vicenza away from home. With this win, they maintain their position at the top of the table with 27 points.
In the second minute of play, the Lionesses almost take the lead with an early chance: Nurzia delivers a cross from the right to Willis, who is narrowly beaten to the ball in front of goal. Three minutes later, Vicenza capitalizes on a defensive error by the arancioneroverdi, with De Muri scoring the opening goal.
Venezia's reaction is immediate, and in the seventh minute, they come close to equalizing with Torradeflot, who, however, misses a shot from a favorable position inside the penalty area. The pressure continues, and finally, in the 13th minute, the deserved equalizer comes: Doneda takes a corner, and Willis heads the ball perfectly to the far post. (1-1)
Energized by the equalizer, the Lionesses keep pushing for the lead, but the home goalkeeper, Olivieri, makes two outstanding saves, first denying Willis and then Zuanti. The 1-2 goal is in the air, and it arrives in the 32nd minute with a brilliant team play: Morin sets up Torradeflot, who executes a perfect one-two with Doneda, and number 4 scores with a powerful right-footed shot.
Berta Prat Hernandez’s players end the first half in style, scoring the 1-3 goal through Zuanti, who finishes a well-executed play involving Willis.
The second half begins without much excitement until the 59th minute, when Torradeflot, after a brilliant solo run, sets up Gismann in the center, who volleys the ball just over the crossbar. With complete control of the match and great confidence, the Lionesses manage the game and maintain their lead until the final whistle, coming close to a fourth goal in the 88th minute when Zannini hits the crossbar, narrowly missing the joy of scoring.
