SERIE C FEM 22/23: VENEZIA 3-0 RICCIONE

November 14, 2022

The Venezia FC Femminile notched a convincing 3-0 victory over visiting Riccione on Sunday evening in Giornata 10 of the 2022/23 Serie C Femminile season, extending their unbeaten run to four matches as they look to build momentum for a climb up the table.

Venezia were aggressive from the start, with Ilaria Mella and Isabel Cacciamali both going close on two occasions each, until the breakthrough finally came in the 38th minute when Yolanda Bonnín converted from the penalty spot for her team-leading fifth goal of the season, and they would take their 1-0 lead into half-time.

After the break, Venezia soon doubled the advantage, when Ida D’Avino played wide to Judith Verdaguer who launched a dangerous ball to the far post for Alice Zuanti, and though Riccione ‘keeper Alice Fara managed to break up the play, Cacciamali was on hand to put away the loose ball.

In the 67th minute, Chirine Lamti would put the match out of reach with her first goal for the club, collecting a clearance attempt from a corner and firing a shot past Fara to make it 3-0.

The win brings Venezia up to sixth in the table, 10 points back of joint-leaders Merano and Bologna.
