SERIE C FEM 22/23: VENEZIA 1985 1-3 VENEZIA

May 21, 2023

In Giornata 29 of the 2022/23 Serie C Femminile season, Venezia made the short trip to local rivals Venezia 1985 and came away with all three points in a 1-3 derby win, making it five wins in a row on the campaign.

Venezia initially fell behind in the first half, as the hosts found the opener in the 25th minute on a set piece with a perfect curling shot from Silvia Tosatto that dipped under the bar. Visiting Venezia would draw level just 8 minute later thanks to an own goal by Marta Malvestio in an effort to deflect Alice Zuanti’s cross, and just a few minutes from time they would grab the lead following a beautiful move by Giulia Risina and Elena Govetto and a pinpoint cross played into the box for Isabel Cacciamali, who sent a gorgeous chip over the ‘keeper.

After the break, the arancioneroverdi took control of the ball and continued to attack, as they looked for a more comfortable lead, and they would get chances with both Chiara Barro and Natasha Shirazi before finding their third goal in the 69th minute through Cacciamali. Served by Shirazi, the bomber finished off the Venezia counter to score a brace, as well as her 21st goal of the season.

Next up, Venezia will play Rinascita Doccia at Centro Sportivo Taliercio on Sunday May 27 for the last match of the 2022/23 Serie C Femminile season.
