The Venezia FC Femminile extended their unbeaten run to five matches with a 0-6 blowout victory at Sambenedettese in Giornata 11 of the 2022/23 Serie C Femminile season, which brings them up to fourth in the league standings, still 10 points off the pace setters Bologna.
In control from the start, Ida D’Avino opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 36th minute after Karin Mantoani was fouled in the area, and the match remained at 0-1 going into half-time.
After the break, the floodgates opened, as Venezia exploded for four goals in the space of 12 minutes. In the 51st minute, Mantoani headed in to double the advantage. In the 57th minute, Yolanda Bonnín found the back of the net on a set piece. In the 59th minute, debutant Alice Mattiello brilliantly set up Elena Govetto to finish with precision inside the post. And in the 63rd minute, Mantoani scored her second of the day with a superb lob of the ‘keeper.
To cap the day, Mattiello would get on the scoresheet herself, marking her debut with a goal and an assist, as a rampant Venezia completed an emphatic victory.
Venezia will return to action on Sunday afternoon at Centro Sportivo Taliercio for the derby against Padova in Giornata 12 of the 2022/23 season.
