SERIE C FEM 22/23: RINASCITA DOCCIA 1-7 VENEZIA

In Giornata 15 of the 2022/23 Serie C Femminile season, the Venezia FC femminile traveled to Sesto Fiorentino and recorded an emphatic 1-7 win over Rinascita Doccia, extending once again their positive streak and moving up to fourth place in the standings.

Venezia took the lead just 9 minutes into the match, with Alice Zuanti taking a pass from Giulia Risina on the edge of the offside line to beat the ‘keeper with a low strike. Zuanti would score again in the 32nd minute, doubling Venezia’s lead with a shot that Asia Mazzanti couldn’t keep hold of. Just a minute later, Chirine Lamti turned provider, setting up Yolanda Bonnín to finish at the far post with her left foot to make it three.

In the 37th minute, Rinascita Doccia won the ball in midfield and, with Giulia Limardi out of the goal, their number 10 fired a shot from the edge of the box to score the first goal for the hosts. Bonnín would however find the net again in stoppage time to close out the first half 1-4.

After the break, Venezia continued to be in control, as Bonnín went on to score a hat trick in the 52nd minute, confirming her position as top scorer. In the 57th minute, Isabel Cacciamali brilliantly lobbed the ‘keeper, and in the 76th minute Zuanti registered the second hat trick of the match to bring the score to 1-7.

Venezia will travel to Trieste next Sunday and face Triestina to start the second half of the season.
