SERIE C FEM 22/23: PORTOGRUARO 0-4 VENEZIA

September 19, 2022

After a home win over Triestina in the season’s opening weekend, the Venezia FC Femminile traveled to Portogruaro and claimed an impressive 0-4 victory on Sunday afternoon in Giornata 2 of the 2022/23 Serie C Femminile season.

After Venezia ‘keeper Giulia Limarda was called into action and denied an early chance for the hosts in the 11th minute, the Lionesses would begin to apply mounting pressure at the other end, with Elena Govetto and Alice Zuanti both going close, before Isabel Cacciamali’s shot-cross went in for the opening goal in the 27th minute.

Soon after Cacciamali nearly scored again and Martina Sclavo was also stopped by the ‘keeper, and the score would remain 0-1 going into half-time.

In the 58th minute, Limardi made another save, this time on a header from a scrum in the area, keeping Venezia in front before the floodgates opened.

Judith Verdaguer would strike twice in the 73rd minute and 79th minute – first on a feed from Zuanti, then on a set up from Filomena Tuia — to put the match out of reach.

In the 87th minute, Zuanti would again turn provider, this time setting up Tuia to finish, as Venezia killed off the match with their fourth and final goal, securing a comfortable victory and maintaining a perfect start to the new season without having conceded a goal.
