Venezia were unlucky to go down on Sunday afternoon but would level the match to capture a point in a 1-1 draw playing away to Lumezzane and thus extending their unbeaten streak to five matches.

Venezia nearly took an early lead but Isabel Cacciamali would go off the post in the 3rd minute.

The hosts would response with pressure of their own, as Rosella Valesi and Roberta Picchi went close to an equalizer, but they would make their breakthrough just before half-time from an own goal as Martina Piazza directed a headed clearance attempt into her own net.

After the break, Piazza made up for the prior error with a terrific defensive play to deny Picchi from doubling the hosts’ lead, as Venezia looked to get back into the match.

In the 75th minute, Cacciamali would deliver the equalizer, taking advantage of a defensive mistake lobbing the ‘keeper to level the match. Shortly thereafter, Cacciamali nearly put Venezia in front, but she would pull a shot wide on a feed from Yolanda Bonnin.

Cacciamali an Bonnín would both get chances for a winner in stoppage time, but Venezia would have to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw.
