In a makeup date for a previously postponed encounter with Portogruaro from Matchday 13 of the 2021/22 Serie C Femminile season, Venezia maintained their home unbeaten record and kept pace at the top of the table, running out to a 3-0 victory.
Venezia didn’t waste much time to take the advantage. In the 13th minute, attacker Elena Govetto, who had registered a key assist last weekend, turned provider once again on Friday night, setting up Ida D’Avino to open the scoring.
Never content to sit back, as the highest-scoring team in Serie C’s Group B, Venezia continued to press forward in search of another goal, and it came just ten minutes later, when Karin Mantoani struck her fourth goal of the season on a feed from fellow attacker Alice Zuanti.
In the opening minutes of the second half, Portogruaro would have their best chance to get back into the match, but a shot from Giorgia Furlanis was cleared off the line by Venezia defender Giulia Risina.
From there on, Venezia would keep a tight grip on the match, while the visitors struggled to threaten Alice Pinel’s goal.
Govetto would remain a threat to score, going close on a free-kick and a shot from open play, but Venezia would add their third and final insurance goal in stoppage time, with Zuanti serving Martina Dezotti inside the area to seal the match.
