SERIE C 24/25: RICCIONE-VENEZIA FC 0-2

The new year for Venezia FC Women begins in the best possible way on Riccione's home ground, thanks to goals from Doneda and Zuanti.

In the opening minutes of the match, the arancioneroverde team immediately pushes forward in search of an early lead, especially thanks to the playmaking of a lively Nurzia.
Venezia's pressing is rewarded in the 14th minute when Maltese striker Willis finds the back of the net for the 1-0 lead, only to have the goal disallowed for offside.
The Lionesses don't lose heart and, three minutes later, make the most of an indirect free kick inside the box. Doneda expertly beats the wall, unlocking the score with a deserved goal. (0-1)
The home team tries to respond in the 30th minute, looking for an equalizer with a free kick near the edge of the box that narrowly misses the target.
A few minutes before the end of the first half, Venezia doubles their lead. Nurzia delivers a corner, Zuanti attacks the near post, and with a sharp touch, finds the net to extend the lead to two goals. (0-2)

At the start of the second half, both Nurzia and Menini come close to scoring a third goal that would seal the match, but on both occasions, Riccione's goalkeeper Boaglio is ready and denies the chances.
Borsato's attempts in the 80th and 93rd minutes are the final opportunities of a second half well managed by Berta Prat Hernandez's squad, who secure the victory and start 2025 in the best way possible.
