The match between San Marino Academy and Venezia FC Women ended in a draw, with the orange-and-greens taking the lead twice through Ballo and Zuanti but failing to secure all three points due to the determined comeback by the hosts. After an intense game full of chances and end-to-end action at the “Acquaviva” Sports Ground, the final score reads 2–2.
The opening stages were lively. After just two minutes Doneda tried her luck from the edge of the area, but Limardi was alert and saved. Venezia gradually took control: in the 4th minute Doneda, set up by Mazis, saw her effort blocked by the home defense, while in the 10th minute Zuanti went close from Novelli’s cross, shooting just wide at the far post. The Lionesses kept pressing and created further chances with Orlandi and Mazis, without finding the target. The deserved opener came in the 35th minute: Ballo intercepted the opponents’ build-up, drove into the box and fired a powerful right-footed shot into the top corner, leaving Limardi no chance. The hosts responded quickly, however, and five minutes later a scramble in the box allowed Sechi to equalize, sending the teams into the break at 1–1.
After halftime Venezia came out with great determination. In the 55th minute Zuanti received the ball on the right, cut inside and unleashed a thunderous left-footed strike that flew in under the crossbar to make it 1–2. The orange-and-greens continued to threaten, especially through Orlandi and Zuanti, going close to a third goal on several occasions. San Marino Academy refused to give up and in the 71st minute found the equalizer again: Iardino, just on as a substitute, coolly finished a low shot off the inside of the post after a well-worked move, making it 2–2. In the closing stages both teams pushed for the winning goal. Zuanti nearly restored the lead from a corner kick, while Orlandi produced a dangerous run into the box during stoppage time. After four minutes of added time, the final whistle confirmed the draw: a hard-fought, open contest in which Venezia FC Women showed character, quality, and strong team spirit.
