On Matchday 18 of the Women’s Serie B, Venezia FC visited Brescia. At the “Mario Rigamonti” Sports Center, the match ended 2–1 for the home side who, despite a very positive performance from the Lionesses, secured all three points thanks to two first-half goals.

The "Leonesse" started aggressively and with intent. After just one minute, Furlanis found space at the edge of the box and shot, but her effort was weak. In the 10th minute, a well-worked move from a wide free kick found Furlanis, whose powerful strike at the near post was saved promptly by the Brescia goalkeeper. The Venezia number 9 was again involved in the 13th minute with two chances from the edge of the area — first with her right foot, then with her left — both denied. Venezia pushed forward, created chances, and controlled possession. In the 19th minute, Willis tried her luck with a curling shot from the edge of the box that narrowly missed the far post. Brescia threatened around the half-hour mark, but Pucova was alert with a couple of decisive interventions — first tipping a powerful shot from a corner over the bar, then denying a close-range attempt. In the 38th minute, the hosts took the lead: a counterattack down the right ended with a cross into the middle for Cacciamali, who finished first-time to make it 1–0. Venezia responded immediately. In the 39th minute, Gismann set up Furlanis on the left; the forward entered the box, beat her defender, and fired a precise right-footed shot into the far corner for 1–1. The match remained intense, and in the 44th minute Brescia regained the lead from a free kick delivered from midfield: a cross into the area was met by Magri’s winning header for 2–1, the score at halftime.

In the second half, Venezia pushed even higher up the pitch and put the Lombard defense under pressure. In the 56th minute, a series of shots inside the box were blocked by the home defense, with the final attempt going just wide. The orange-and-black side kept pressing: in the 63rd minute, Girotto, set up by Furlanis, was denied just as she was about to shoot. A minute later, Duarte and Ballo combined dangerously, but Brescia cleared for a corner. Cortesi came close to equalizing shortly after but failed to hit the target. In the 70th minute came the clearest chance: Furlanis unleashed a powerful long-range strike heading under the crossbar, but the goalkeeper produced a superb save to tip it over for a corner. Later, from a Cortesi corner, Mounecif headed goalward but was again denied by the keeper. In the closing stages, Furlanis nearly made it 2–2: her shot from the edge was saved, struck the crossbar, and went out for a corner. After four minutes of stoppage time, referee Tuderti blew the final whistle. Following the international break, Venezia FC will return to action on Sunday, March 15, away at Cesena.
