COPPA ITALIA SERIE C FEM 22/23: VENEZIA 2-0 BOLOGNA

March 5, 2023

Venezia ran out to a 2-0 home victory over visiting Bologna in the Coppa Italia Serie C Femminile 2022/23 quarterfinals.

The hosts started getting chances early in the first half with Yolanda Bonnín crossing a ball into Isabel Cacciamali in the 4th minute. Venezia’s next good chance fell to Ida D’Avino in the 33rd minute, but her powerful shot went just over the crossbar. However, heading into the break, Venezia would manage to go in front through Chiara Barro.

Venezia continued dominating the rest of the match, as they saw a goal from Cacciamali being ruled out for offside in the 56th minute. After warding off the danger on a couple of occasions, a Bonnín shot in the 78th minute turned into a timely assist for Cacciamali, who scored to make it 2-0. The visitors would try to pull one back in the 87th minute, but it would be no good, as Venezia saw out the result.

In the next Coppa Italia fixture, Venezia will face Spezia on April 25 for the tournament semifinals.
